Sport and Altitude have always been intertwined in Ben’s life. Growing up for the first 9 years of his life in the Andes mountains of Peru followed by 2 years in the scorching desert of Lima, he was always running around, climbing new mountains, and playing new sports.
After moving back to England, Ben focused on middle distance running, blending speed and endurance to learn to push his body to the limit. A foot injury two years ago meant he had to step back from running, but the enforced cycling cross training soon became a passion of his and he has not looked back since. He now combines running and cycling training year round as well as having competed in his first Duathlon a few months ago. Ben’s next goal is the APEX Everest challenge in September which will require him to take his endurance to the next level.
Ben’s wide variety of experience with both training and extreme environments has led him to pursue a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University where he has developed a strong academic foundation to go alongside his practical experience.
As a Performance Specialist, Ben is excited to help everyone at the Altitude Centre achieve their goals as they prepare for their next adventure or train for their next physical challenge.
