The Science & Application of Altitude Training is our BASES accredited course, designed for coaches, S&C, sport science support staff, and anyone interested in developing their understanding of simulated altitude training.
In this session we will explore the underlying theory of hypoxia and different hypoxic training methods, and translates the theory into practice, exploring applications including in endurance, intermittent and combat sports, as well as injury rehabilitation, load management, body composition and acclimatisation.
The seminar is lead by Lead Performance Specialist James Barber, who works alongside our elite athletes in their implementation of altitude training across a range of endurance, team and combat sports. His work on altitude training has been published in the Journal of Sport Sciences and, and he is currently undertaking a PhD in environmental phyiology at Anglia Ruskin University alongside his work at The Altitude Centre.
