access to other training elevations ranging from sea level
to over 10,000 feet / 3,000 meters.
Climate: Flagstaff’s temperate four-season climate provides
an ideal training environment and a welcome alternative to
cold, harsh winters and hot, humid summers. The combination
of altitude, low humidity, clear skies (288 days of sunshine
per year) and a wide variety of terrain provide for perfect
altitude training conditions throughout the year.

Tourist info: In addition to all that the Centre for High
Altitude Training can offer visiting athletes in Flagstaff,
the city is also located in the largest ponderosa pine forest
in the world, and is surrounded by a multitude of national
monuments, tourist attractions, and natural beauty, including
the famed Grand Canyon and red rocks of Sedona.
Although Flagstaff only has a population of 60,000, it has
many larger city amenities including an airport with direct
flights from Phoenix’s Sky Harbour International Airport,
a wide variety of hotel accommodations to suit any budget,
ground transportation options, restaurants, shopping and numerous
recreational opportunities including golf, hiking, mountain
biking, skiing, and more

Highveld Altitude Training Centre
Location: Secunda, South Africa
Altitude: 1,650m
Offering serious endurance athlete (track runner, road runner, cyclist, swimmer and triathlete) a superb location for training. From October to April one can train in perfect weather. Training facilities include a tartan track, gymnasium, swimming pool, excellent off-road and road running trails and many more. Accommodation is in African argitecture chalets next to a beautiful lake only 500m from the stadium. Best of all the South African prices will ensure a very cheap stay in Secunda.
